Stephen Y. Dickinson

Steve Dickinson is a CPA with over 40 years of experience as a financial executive. He began his career with Ernst & Young, moved to Media General, Inc., and then retired from Media General in 2012 as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer.

Throughout his career, Steve has served in leadership roles in several professional organizations, including President of the Richmond Society of CPA’s, the education committee of the Virginia Society of CPA’s, the Virginia Chapter of Financial Executives International, the Corporate Financial Executives committee of the International Newspaper Financial Executives. He co-founded and for many years served as chairman of the Controllers Executive RoundTable. Steve is a graduate of the Leadership Metro Richmond and has enjoyed his volunteer activities for non-profits, including long-term leadership roles in the Virginia War Memorial Foundation, Feedmore, Inc., and Prevent Blindness Mid-Atlantic (now Conexus).

Steve is a United States Air Force veteran, a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) with a B.S. in Accounting and was selected the VCU School of Business “Alumnus of the Year” in 2007. Later, he completed the Executive Leadership Program at the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia.
