Riverside Center for the Performing Arts presents The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Riverside Center for the Performing Arts in Fredericksburg, Virginia is excited to be the first regional theater in the metropolitan area to present The Hunchback of Notre Dame, starring Justin Luciano as Quasimodo and Thomas Adrian Simpson as Dom Claude Frollo. Located at 95 Riverside Parkway, Fredericksburg, VA, performances begin on March 14th and run until Sunday, May 6th.

Victor Hugo’s epic tale of hope, love, and passion, with book by Peter Parnell (On A Clear Day You Can See Forever [Broadway Revival]), and music by composer Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Newsies), and lyricist Stephen Schwartz (Wicked), soars to life in this emotionally-charged retelling of the celebrated classic. The love story of the beautiful gypsy girl Esmeralda, the scorned bell-ringer Quasimodo and the dashing Captain Phoebus comes to glorious life in this powerful rendition of the timeless tale. Featuring the songs from the animated Disney film, the bold and dramatic theatrics—combined with the music’s orchestral power and choral beauty provided by a twenty-member choir that accompanies the cast—promise to transport audiences back to fifteenth-century Paris and inside the cathedral walls made famous by Victor Hugo’s novel.

Riverside Center’s Producing Artistic Director, Patrick A'Hearn, has assembled an outstanding cast and production team. This phenomenal cast is led by Justin Luciano, who is making his Riverside Center debut as Quasimodo. He is joined by Thomas Adrian Simpson as Dom Claude Frollo and Candice Shedd-Thompson as Esmeralda. The principal cast also includes John Flemming (Phoebus de Martin) and Colton Montgomery (Clopin Trouillefou). The ensemble includes Gabe Belyeu, Elizabeth C. Butler, Sheri Hayden, Alan Hoffman, Andrea Kahane, Kevin Korczynski, Ian Lane, Priya Paranthaman, Daniel Pippert, Danielle Poznanovic, Theodore Sapp, Abby Seymour, and Stephanie Wood.

The production is directed by A’Hearn with choreography and musical staging by Stephanie Wood and music direction by Garrett Jones. The creative team also includes Sean McClelland (scenic design), Jimm Halliday (costume design), Michael Jarett (lighting design), Bethany Galyen (sound design), and RaeAnna Hammerbacker is the Production Stage Manager.
