Box Office Customer Service Associate

Description

Riverside Center for the Performing Arts in Fredericksburg, Virginia is seeking a bright, motivated, hard-working individual to serve as a Box Office Customer Service Associate.

Flexible Schedule: Days, Nights, Weekends, Holidays

Position: Part-Time (No Medical, Dental, Leave Benefits)

Direct Supervisor: Box Office Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Receives and returns customers’ phone calls, answers questions on performances and events, ticket availability and prices, other available services; shares pertinent policies, resolves customer issues and complaints as needed while complying with policies;
  • Processes payments by check, credit card, and cash, record payments in log for accounting purposes, and documenting on reservation forms;
  • Enters ticket sales into computer databases and prints tickets; files tickets and reservations for future reference and distribution;
  • Receives and directs people conducting business in-person at Riverside Center;
  • Prepares mailings to customers, including ticket packages and event information;
  • Prints/copies fliers, forms, and other materials as needed to conduct day-to-day business; re-stocks customer information table when necessary;
  • Attends mandatory Box Office staff meetings;
  • Undertakes other duties as assigned;

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • omputer skills – Typing, 10-key or calculator, experience using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Access;
  • Communication skills – communicate clearly and accurately with customers (in person and on telephone) in a courteous, professional manner. Legible handwriting or printing.
  • Equipment operation – computer, printer, copier, cash register, fax, calculator
  • Analytical ability – must be able to gather, sort, and document detailed data necessary to process reservations and orders and to effectively resolve customer concerns;
  • Other – Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, and to multitask and manage time efficiently;

Minimum Requirements:

  • Clear, pleasant voice. Legible handwriting or printing
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some previous experience in customer service
  • Dress and groom in a manner that projects a public image commensurate with the quality standards of Riverside Center
  • Dependable transportation to and from Riverside Center
