A highlight of the Lincoln Bicentennial in 2009, this delightful and fast- moving musical is set in 1830s America when our not-yet-16th president was experiencing the awkward, gangly years of his youth. Chronicling Lincoln’s days as a farm boy through his early career as a struggling lawyer and budding politician, we watch young Abe, who is filled with good ideas and a passion for fairness, gradually learn to become the resolute leader who later steered our nation through one of its most tumultuous periods. Originally presented Off Broadway in 1992 and critically acclaimed by The New York Times: “YOUNG ABE LINCOLN offers good theater and good education.”
