Assistant Front of House Manager

Part-time

Riverside Center for the Performing Arts is a full-service events center and dinner theater offering Broadway-style theatrical productions and elegant, custom private events. We are seeking an assistant front of house manager to support our children's theater and mainstage productions. Summary of Position: The Asst. FOH Manager works with the FOH manager to oversee, manage, and coordinate front of the house employees to ensure an exceptional guest experience for all theatrical productions.

  • Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times.

  • Support planning, organizing, training and leading front of house staff to achieve Riverside's objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance and costs.

  • Operate point of sale and scheduling systems.

  • Work with box office staff to facilitate seating and meet special requests.

  • Manage cash and other receipts in accordance with restaurant policies and procedures.

  • Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner.

  • Must be hands on and fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

  • Maintain inventory for service alley product and supplies.

  • Prepare (setup) and breakdown service alley and theater prior to and following guest service.

Qualifications:

  • Have knowledge of service and food and beverage, generally involving at least three years of front-of-the-house operations and/or assistant management positions.

  • Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to use POS system (TouchBistro familiarity a plus).

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Experience scheduling service staff

  • Must possess and use excellent communication skills.

  • Must have effective organizational skills.

Audio Technician 2

Part-time

Riverside Center for the Performing Arts is a full-service events center and dinner theater offering Broadway-style theatrical productions and elegant, custom private events. We are seeking a bright, motivated, hard-working individual to serve as its Audio Technician 2. In collaboration with the Sound Designer/Engineer, the Audio Technician 2 is a creative problem solver who supports our audio production requirements for mainstage and children’s theatre shows and special events at Riverside Center. The Audio Technician 2 ensures timely progress of projects while meeting high standards of professionalism and quality.

Direct Supervisors: Sound Designer/Engineer, Production Manager

Required: The candidate must hold a degree in Technical Theatre from an accredited university or possess equivalent professional experience.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend and participate in rehearsals, system tunings, level settings, previews, and performances as assigned

  • Setup and strike sound tech tables and all tech table headsets when necessary

  • Maintain neat and accurate records of design execution for a given production

  • Serve as a member of sound crews for work calls, load-ins, strikes, and changeovers

  • Serve as a backstage sound technician when appropriate

  • Assist in the maintenance and installation of all sound equipment in the theatre

  • Maintain the organization and cleanliness of all control booths and FOH mix positions

  • Maintain the headsets, belt packs, and cabling for all productions & test paging/monitoring systems and assistive listening systems before each performance

  • Assist in development of prompt book (track for sound cues) for productions as assigned

  • Other duties as assigned

Special Skills & Knowledge:

  • Computer and internet research skills with specific knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Proficient knowledge in soldering, speaker rigging, and hanging

  • Working knowledge of health and safety priorities and practices for the performing arts

  • Mature, positive, and enthusiastic attitude towards the goal of providing the highest quality work possible, in a mutually supportive environment.

  • Ideal candidate demonstrates an interest and propensity for sound design

  • Working knowledge of Midas M32 sound board, QLab, Sound Forge or Audacity. Knowledge of Pro-Tools is a plus but not required.

  • General knowledge of live sound recording.

Line Cook/Prep Cook

The ideal candidates for this position has previous experience preparing American cuisine, enjoys working in a busy restaurant environment and is capable of taking direction well and multi-tasking effectively. Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Prepare, season, and cook meats, vegetables, desserts, or other foodstuffs

  • Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items

  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to prepare meals during our dining hours

  • Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures

  • Rotate stock items as per established procedures

  • Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts

  • Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shift

Qualification and Skills:

  • 2+ years’ experience as a Cook in the restaurant industry

  • Able to read and follow standardized recipes

  • Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures

  • Able to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere

  • ServeSafe Certification preferred

Event Wait Staff

Part-time

Riverside Center for the Performing Arts is a full-service events center and dinner theater offering Broadway-style theatrical productions and elegant, custom private events. We are seeking energetic individuals to assist as wait staff with executing events on evenings and weekends. The successful applicant will be available weekends and evenings for events such as weddings, banquets, and other parties. Other flexible hours may be available. If you have hospitality or restaurant industry experience and a passion for strong customer service, we invite you to join our team.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Communicate effectively with customers, kitchen staff, and management

  • Ensure accurate and professional food presentation to patrons.

  • Assist set up and break down of events.

  • Efficiently serve buffet style or plated dinners.

  • Effectively utilize time management skills in fast-paced, multi-faceted environments.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience preferred

  • Capable of working in a fast past and flexible work environment

  • Able to work as part of a team in a busy events atmosphere & work well within a team

  • Can lift at least 50 lbs, stand and walk throughout an entire event shift.

  • Maintain a professional appearance, no visible tattoos.
