Event Wait Staff

Part-time

Riverside Center is seeking wait staff to assist with executing events on evenings and weekends. The successful applicant will be available weekends and evenings for events such as weddings, banquets, and other parties. Other flexible hours may be available. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Communicate effectively with customers, kitchen staff, and management

  • Ensure accurate and professional food presentation to patrons.

  • Assist set up and break down of events.

  • Efficiently serve buffet style or plated dinners.

  • Effectively utilize time management skills in fast-paced, multi-faceted environments.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Experience preferred

  • Able to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere & work well within a team

  • Can lift at least 50 lbs, stand and walk throughout an entire event shift.

  • Maintain a professional appearance, no visible tattoos.

Bartender

Part-time

Riverside Center for the Performing Arts Center is seeking a part-time bartender to work with our events staff. The successful applicant will be available weekends and evenings for events such as weddings, banquets, and other parties. Other flexible hours may be available.

We request that applicants for this position have at least one year of experience, are at least 21 years of age, maintain a professional image and rapport with customers in keeping with the events we will be hosting, adhere to all certifications required, maintain a clean, well-maintained bar area.

CORE SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS

  • English proficiency.

  • At least one year bartending experience

  • VA ABC course completion and TIPS certification preferred

  • Developed organizational and time management skills.

  • Professional and courteous demeanor.

  • Effective multi-tasking skills to ensure a quick response to guest and co-worker’s needs.

  • Exceptional personal hygiene, no visible tattoos

  • Can lift at least 50 lbs, stand for an entire shift,

  • No alcohol-related incidents or civil lawsuits

JOB DUTIES

  • Preparing alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for patrons, serving snacks.

  • Interacting with customers, taking orders, making recommendations,

  • Check ID to ensure alcoholic beverages are only served to those of legal drinking age

  • Maintain a thorough inventory of beverages and supplies

  • Reports health, safety and maintenance concerns immediately to the Chef or General Manager.

  • Participates in and attends all informational and team building meetings.

  • Performs all other related duties as assigned; including opening and closing checklists.
