This entertaining biography emphasizes Carver's determination and curiosity while utilizing outstanding audience participation. As the play opens, Henry, an inattentive student, must prepare a report on George Washington Carver. Miraculously, Carver steps out of a reference book and takes Henry on a tour of his astounding life. Along the way, Carver reveals the forces that motivated him and demonstrates the advancements he created for others. The play also examines the racism and bigotry Carver encountered and his methods for overcoming them. In the end, Henry is inspired by a keepsake from George Washington Carver himself.
